Job Description

Apex System is looking to add a part-time Ward Clerk to our esteemed healthcare clients’ team in San Diego , CA . We are looking to screen and submit qualified candidates as soon as possible!

Compensation : $25/hr paid weekly

Schedule: 24 hours/week, three 8-hour shifts

• Shift Times: Nights 3pm to 1130pm
• Days Vary: Must be able to work every other weekend

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the hub of unit communication (answer call lines, communicate with nurses, etc.)
2. Maintain accurate census lists, bring patients into the system, and discharge them from the system
3. Make hospital follow-up appointments
4. Perform clerical functions within the department including but not limited to telephone reception, transcription of orders, chart flagging, and maintaining department records (i.e., statistics, logbook, and/or census board)

Top Three Skillsets Needed:

1. Professional communication (proactive communication, emotional maturity in communication)
2. Efficiency (time management, multi-tasking, ability to navigate unique situations, etc.)
3. Teamwork (ability to assist team, proactiveness, etc.)

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Preferred: Some college or Associate's Degree

Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 years of relevant Healthcare Unit Coordinator (HUC) experience

Systems Knowledge:

• Required: Microsoft Suite
• Preferred: EPIC experience

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
